Because there was misunderstanding in mine as well. You knew that not only was I drunk, but that eve I had spoken of the matter in passing to our father, and he was repulsed by the idea. Then I did what I thought I must for the family, though now I would have weighed the matter for longer before deciding what would be the best choice.
